Harvey Stower R.I.P.
(posted 10/5/09 - Bill Edwards)

Many of you may fondly remember Harvey Stower who taught English during our Nicolet tenure. He was passionate about his students and in encouraging students to both understand and take a positive, proactive role in the current events of our time. Jed Dolnick kept in touch with Harvey as he retired from teaching, transitioning into the ministry, and later as the mayor of Amery. Jed had known that Harvey was ill for quite some time, but that he was tenacious in not letting that slow him down from public service.

Harvey reminds me of two of our teachers that entered government/public service: Barbara Ulichey (former Wisconsin State Senator and Representative) and our resident educator, Dennis Lowder (former County Board Supervisor Candidate and Brown Deer School Board member).

There is a tribute by Jeff Wagner (WTMJ - - Nicolet class of 1975)

and the LaCrosse Tribune (which gives funeral information - 10/10/09)
