Bob was driving on Lake Drive with 1971 grad Doug Shomperlien. We were all great buddies. The night, Bob died. He was ... well, let's just say he could not drive anymore, so he asked Doug to drive. They claimed there was a malfunction in the front end of the car as the car missed a turn and hit a tree. Bob made it to the hospital ER. As with Bob, he walked around asking people if THEY needed help. He collapsed and died. His great friend Doug died of cancer around age 44 (about 1998).
