Jim's wife submitted information on his behalf for our 30 year Reunion Book. Jim passed away 12/16/2001 when his bicycle was hit by a truck in Alabama.
Remembering our classmate and friend. Recall fun filled days enjoying tennis, never winning pick up hoops games, real world road trips, physics experiments, discussing "pillow lips" and the affect of moonlight, camping trips and learning to whittle, the Barracuda, the Gendelman party, the Sha-Na-Na nights, amateur photog, Marx Brothers fanatic, and always getting the book work done yet finding time to play. To a person, there is not a soul who can’t recall how Jim could bring a smile to our faces and laughter to our hearts. Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves. Jim died when he was struck on an old country road while riding his bike with a buddy.

Jim had a smilie a mile wide, and laughed easily. That's how I remember him.Elizabeth J [jill] James (Mathis)
Jim and I were at Bayside for four years and he was always such a nice classmate
In the 1980's while I was working as a pharmacist for Eckerd Drug, he remembered me
despite the fact that my name as pharmacist had my married name on it. He told me
he'd married a southern girl and had a family. He wanted my opinion on the best
cough syrup for a prescription-he was an opthamologist.
